The Accidental Discovery of "Puppy Mountain"
The Main Reading Text
Guo Qingshan is a man who designs things, meaning he plans how new things should look. One day, Mr. Guo went back to visit his hometown. His hometown is a place called Yichang in China. While he was there, he took many photos of a mountain.
Later, when Mr. Guo was looking at his photos, he saw something amazing! Part of the mountain looked exactly like a dog's head. "It was so cute!" Mr. Guo said. He thought the "puppy" on the mountain looked like it was bending down to drink water from the river below. This mountain is right next to the very long Yangtze River (長江).
Mr. Guo was so happy with his photo that he shared it online. When you share something online, it means you put it on websites or apps where many people can see it, like social media. Lots of people saw the photo of "Puppy Mountain" and they loved it! They thought it was very cute and interesting. Some people liked it so much that they even traveled to Yichang. They wanted to see the puppy-shaped mountain for themselves, with their own eyes.
After Mr. Guo's photo became famous, other people started sharing their own photos of the same mountain. Some of them said, "Hey, I saw that dog shape in the mountain before too!" It seems this puppy was hiding in the mountain for a while, and Mr. Guo helped everyone see it.
